For unforgettable experience days, family fun activities and white water action – Lee Valley White Water Centre is the place to be! Set in the River Lee Country Park, this unique visitor destination in Hertfordshire is easily accessible from London and offers a range of water activities including white water rafting, canoeing and kayaking and much more!

 

Before you visit...

Important information before visiting the venue

  • Our gates will open at 10:00 - 19:30, Wednesday to Sunday. If driving to site, please ensure you have left our car park before we close. 
  • If you have booked an activity with us, your booked time is the check-in at our reception. Please do not arrive at reception before this; additional time has been allocated within this check-in to allow for potential queues at our reception and changing rooms.
  • The number of non-activity visitors maybe limited at the gate to ensure social distancing can be followed on site. There’s no guarantee you’ll be able to enter the site unless you have an activity booked.
  • We’re open for pre-booked activities only. No bookings can be made at reception
  • Face coverings must be worn when entering our buildings
  • We are accepting card payments only, no cash will be accepted
  • Access to our Terrace Bar and Café is via the outside of the building only, no route through reception
  • The seating area on our Terrace has been set out to meet social distancing guidelines, please do not move furniture from its designated area
  • The sandpit and children’s play area are currently closed and inaccessible

Rafting Unleashed

It’s time to get yourselves back on to the rapids and raft your way into this new kind of normal with us. We are ready to welcome you back! If you love an adrenalin rush and the thrill of the rapids, then this experience will help ease those lockdown blues.

Our rapids await where you and your group will get to take on the mighty drops of our Olympic standard white water course. Your runs will all be about speed, using the power of water to navigate the course in a rollercoaster ride. We may not a have a 360° loop, but we have drops that will get your heart pounding and smiles forming. Suitable for anyone age 12+.

First things first, they’ll talk you through the basic skills and safety elements of rafting whilst on the lake then move on to completing our Activity Assessment. You’ll then be ready to hit the rapids! Paddles up!

  • Our rafts hold up to six people, we'll always try our best to keep individuals together but this can’t be guaranteed unless you book a whole raft
  • To keep our rafts as socially distanced as possible, the capacity of our rafts will be a minimum of four people, maximum of six people.
  • Please ensure you have read and understood our Keeping you Safe information before taking part.
  • A White Water Gift Voucher is redeemable against this activity
  • Late arrivals may not be able to take part in the activity and will not be refunded

Family Rafting

Turbo boost your family time as you and your loved ones take on the rapids of our Legacy Loop. Share the laughs as you are challenged and guided down the course.

£200 per raft

The experience will last for two hours; this includes a safety brief and kit distribution with up to one hour on the water including an activity assessment. Once you’ve been fully kitted out with wetsuits and wetboots, you’ll be introduced to your raft guide who will help you navigate your way down the Legacy Loop.

First things first, they’ll talk you through the basic skills and safety elements of rafting whilst on the lake then move on to completing our Activity Assessment. You will then be ready to hit the rapids! Paddles up!

  • £25 soft drinks voucher is included with this booking to be used in The Terrace Bar & Café on the day of your activity
  • Our family rafts hold a maximum of five people per raft, with a maximum two adults in the raft
  • Gift Vouchers are not redeemable against this activity

Hydrospeeding

Nothing beats this exhilarating activity, which is pure white water fun! Jump into action as you navigate your way down the rapids holding on to your hydrospeed!

£50 per person

The experience will last for 90 minutes; this includes a safety brief and kit distribution with up to one hour on the water including an activity assessment. Once you’ve been fully kitted out with wetsuits and wetboots, you’ll head over to the Legacy Loop to complete our short activity assessment. You’ll then be ready to leap into the Legacy Loop with your Hydrospeed – these are a cross between a float and a body board.

  • We may need to reschedule bookings that do not meet our minimum requirement of participants - you will be contacted within seven days of your booking if affected
  • A White Water Gift Voucher is redeemable against this activity

Hot Dogs

Hot Dogs with a difference! These inflatable two man kayaks are a great way to tackle the rapids as a duo. You’ll feel every wave of the rapids as you plunge into the drops of our Legacy Loop and paddle your way down the course.

£100 for two

The experience will last for 90 minutes; this includes a safety brief and kit distribution with up to one hour on the water including an activity assessment. Once you’ve been fully kitted out with wetsuits and wetboots, you’ll head over to the Legacy Loop to complete our short activity assessment – after that it’s time to get paddling as you enter the water on your Hot Dog. Practice your paddle skills before taking on a whole run of the course and our travellator will take you to the top of the course.

Explore Kayaking

Our Explore Kayaking sessions are fun for all the family and take place on our crystal clear lake. These fun and relaxed sessions are a great way to paddle with your kids or friends on our lake.

£10 per person

The experience will last for 60 minutes; this includes a safety brief and kit distribution with up to one hour on the water. Once you're fully briefed, you'll be ready to get started! No previous experience necessary - you can improve your skills as you go! Come and have fun for either a one off session combined with a visit to River Lee Country Park or join us regularly. 

  • All participants must wear closed toe shoes. No sandals, flip flops or heeled shoes
  • All participants must wear a minimum of shorts and a t-shirt whilst on the activity
  • Sessions include kayak, paddle and buoyancy aid
  • Wetsuits are not included
  • Late arrivals may not be able to take part in the activity and will not be refunded

Explore SUP

Our Explore SUP sessions are fun for all the family! Discover the world of Stand Up Paddle Boarding on our crystal clear lake. These fun and relaxed sessions are a great way to paddle with your kids or friends on our lake.

£10 per person

Further details

The experience will last for 60 minutes; this includes a safety brief and kit distribution with up to one hour on the water. No previous experience is necessary - just turn up and test your balancing skills! Once you’ve been fully briefed by one of our instructors, you’ll be ready to get started!

  • All participants must wear closed toe shoes. No sandals, flip flops or heeled shoes
  • All participants must wear a minimum of shorts and a t-shirt whilst on the activity
  • Sessions include SUP board, paddle and buoyancy aid
  • Wetsuits and wet boots are available for hire at an additional cost of £5 per person if required
  • Late arrivals may not be able to take part in the activity and will not be refunded

Water Wipeout

Tackle our inflatable obstacle course on our lake and compete against your mates to see who can complete our course in the fastest time. Leaping over obstacles before whizzing down the slide at the end - you are guaranteed to have a splashing time.

The Water Wipeout experience will last for 60 minutes; this includes a safety brief and kit distribution with up to one hour on the water. Once you’ve been kitted out with your safety equipment and fully briefed by one of our instructors on the rules of our Water Wipeout, you’ll be ready to get started!

  • All participants must wear closed toe shoes. No sandals, flip flops or heeled shoes
  • All participants must wear a minimum of shorts and a t-shirt whilst on the activity
  • Wetsuits and wet boots are available are optional and are included in the price
  • A Water Wipeout Gift Voucher is redeemable against this activity

Family fun activity - Disc Golf

Disc Golf is a great group activity and that's just a stone’s throw from the centre in River Lee Country Park. Pick up your free score card at reception and either bring your own frisbee or purchase discs from us.

River Lee Country Park is full of fun for the family but this is one of our favourite activities! Make your way around the 9 hole course, as you attempt to throw your flying disc into the goal – see if you can make par!

  • You can bring your own Frisbee or buy one of our flying discs for £10
  • Find out what else you can do in River Lee Country Park - it’s great for cycling and walking, you can hire river boats or why not get your four-legged friends practicing to become the next talent star with our dog agility course

Rodeo Rafting

Hold on if you can! Rodeo Rafting is not for the faint-hearted, the accelerated course will make you feel every twist and turn as we turn up the rapids. If you’ve already done White Water Rafting or just a straight up adrenalin seeker, this is the perfect experience for you!

£65 per person

  • Whole raft bookings must be a minimum of 5 people, maximum of 9 per raft
  • When booking a whole raft you will receive a £50 drinks voucher to be used in The Terrace Bar & Café on the day of your activity

Tubing

Throw yourself into fun tubing and ride the waves in this exciting white water activity! These rubber donuts aren't for relaxing in the pool but are for splashing, bumping, twisting and turning down the rapids of our Legacy Loop.

£35 per person

The experience will last for 90 minutes; this includes a safety brief and kit distribution with up to one hour on the water including an activity assessment. Once you’ve been fully kitted out with wetsuits and wetboots, you’ll head over to the Legacy Loop to complete our short activity assessment. You’ll then be ready to jump in to your Tube – these are similar to the rubber donuts you use at the beach or in the pool but are specially made to be suitable for the white water rapid course.
