Suitable for Intermediate or Advanced
Based on our flat water lake, rolling clinics are designed for paddlers who want to learn the skills and techniques required to perform an eskimo roll. An eskimo roll is when you, the paddler, can recover from a capsized boat and is an essential skill for kayaking in white water.
These one hour sessions are available every Wednesday at 17:30 and 19:00* consist of an introduction or re-familiarisation to rolling techniques. Our rolling clinic is flexible to you, so whether you want a one-off session or regular coaching it’s up to you.
We have two options for you to book, a one off session with the option of:
- Introduction to Rolling
- Reconstructing/Developing your Roll
- Developing Reliable Rolls
Alternatively, we have a “Introduction to Rolling” course for four subsequent weeks*; During this course we will help boost your confidence and provide you with the technical templates for success. The main focus will be on the correct movement of the body bringing the blade in at the later stages of the course to promote positive use of the body and blade. The course is only designed as an introduction to rolling a kayak, and as such more time spent learning to roll may be necessary.
