Whether you’re planning an activity day for your youth group or society, end of term activities or an end of season party for you sports team, we’ve lots of outdoor activities suitable for a range of ages that’s a guaranteed great day out.

White Water Rafting

Your class or group will get a good soaking as they ride the rapids and surf the waves on the same course as the Olympic athletes of London 2012.

Further details

The experience will last for two hours; this includes a safety brief and kit distribution with up to one hour on the water including an activity assessment. Once you’ve been fully kitted out with wetsuits and wetboots, you’ll be introduced to your raft guide who will help you navigate the rapids.

First things first, they’ll talk you through the basic skills and safety elements of rafting whilst on the lake then move on to completing our Activity Assessment. You will then be ready to hit the rapids! Paddles up!

  • We advise your group to arrive 15 minutes prior to the start time of your activity session
  • Our rafts hold up to nine people, with a minimum of 5 people required for a full raft
  • A maximum of 8 rafts can go down the course per session (up to 72 people)
  • Late arrivals may not be able to take part in the activity and will not be refunded

Age and weight restrictions:

  • All participants must be aged 12+ and individually weigh under 18 stone
  • Participants aged under 18 years must have our Parental Consent Form signed by their legal parent/guardian before being able to participate in a moving water based activity at the centre
  • All groups aged 18 or under, participating in water based activities must have our Group Consent Form signed by the group leader before being able to partake in their chosen activity

Legacy Rafting

Enjoy your first experience on the white water rapids with our Legacy Course, a brilliant first time experience for adrenalin seekers!

Further details

Raft Building

Shipwrecked on a desert island…what three items would your group want? Forget their smart phones, how about planks, barrels and ropes to build your own raft to get you all safely back to dry land.

  • All participants must wear closed toe shoes. No sandals, flip flops or heeled shoes
  • All participants must wear a minimum of shorts and a t-shirt whilst on the activity
  • Sessions include raft building equipment and buoyancy aid
  • Late arrivals may not be able to take part in the activity and will not be refunded

Water Wipeout

Tackle our inflatable obstacle course on our lake and compete against your mates to see who can complete our course in the fastest time. Leaping over obstacles before whizzing down the slide at the end - you are guaranteed to have a splashing time.

The Water Wipeout experience will last for 90 minutes; this includes a safety brief and kit distribution with up to one hour on the water. Once you’ve been kitted out with your safety equipment and fully briefed by one of our instructors on the rules of our Water Wipeout, you’ll be ready to get started!

  • We advise your group to arrive 15 minutes prior to the start time of your activity session
  • Minimum of 9 participants per session, maximum of 32
  • All participants must wear closed toe shoes. No sandals, flip flops or heeled shoes
  • All participants must wear a minimum of shorts and a t-shirt whilst on the activity
  • Wetsuits and wet boots are included
  • Late arrivals may not be able to take part in the activity and will not be refunded
  • Please ensure you have read our essential informationand FAQs before booking

Explore Kayaking

Our Explore Kayaking sessions are fun for the whole group and take place on our crystal clear lake. These fun and relaxed sessions are a great way to paddle with your kids or friends on our lake.

The experience will last for 90 minutes; this includes a safety brief and kit distribution with up to one hour on the water. Once you're fully briefed, you'll be ready to get started! No previous experience necessary - you can improve your skills as you go! Come and have fun for either a one off session combined with a visit to River Lee Country Park or join us regularly. 

  • We advise your group to arrive 15 minutes prior to the start time of your activity session
  • Minimum of 9 participants per session, maximum of 32
  • All participants must wear closed toe shoes. No sandals, flip flops or heeled shoes
  • All participants must wear a minimum of shorts and a t-shirt whilst on the activity
  • Sessions include kayak, paddle, wetsuits, wetboots and buoyancy aid
  • Late arrivals may not be able to take part in the activity and will not be refunded

Explore SUP

Our Explore SUP sessions are fun for everyone! Discover the world of Stand Up Paddle Boarding on our crystal clear lake. These fun and relaxed sessions are a great way to paddle with your kids or friends on our lake

No previous experience necessary - you can improve your skills as you go! Come and have fun for either a one off session combined with a visit to River Lee Country Park or join us regularly.

Alternative education packages

Lee Valley’s Youth and Schools Service also run a number of education programmes for a range of ages and covering a number of subjects or topics and these can be combined with any of the activities above – for more information on what they offer please go to visitleevalley.org.uk/education

Educational programmes - our licences

If you've booked or are considering booking one of our educational programmes at Lee Valley White Water Centre, we are certified by the Adventure Activities Licensing Authority (AALA).

The AALA is an organisation under the umbrella of the HSE, which ensures that activity providers follow good safety management practices. This should allow young people to experience exciting and stimulating activities outdoors without being exposed to avoidable risks of death or disabling injury.
